My name is Caroline Jansen Verplanke, and I work as a Consultant in Funding and Innovation at PNO Chemistry.

Within PNO Chemistry, my role involves guiding chemical companies with aspirations for green innovation in the landscape of subsidies and funding. What I find rewarding about my work is the ability to connect with clients on a chemical level and support them in their sustainability projects from A to Z. The dynamic nature of this field, with its diverse range of projects, ensures that each day brings new and exciting challenges.

My interest in chemistry runs in my blood, as both of my grandparents were active in this field. I obtained an MSc degree in chemistry, with a focus on energy and sustainability. During my studies, I learned more about the interplay between chemistry and sustainability and became very motivated to play my part in it. As my interests go beyond lab scale, I followed the major “Science in Society” to learn more about the policy and commercial sides of science.

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, racing on my bicycle, or squeezing in a workout at the gym. On Sundays, you can find me strolling around the neighborhood, with as final stop the cinema, to watch the latest arthouse movies.
